Description

The Malex 427 Block is a CNC machined GM GEN 4 Alloy block.

Machined and honed on the latest Rottler machining centre delivers a blueprint level of accuracy. The Malex 427 starts life as a used GEN 4 Alloy block and the following procedures are undertaken.

  • Block is hot washed and externally vapour blasted
  • Block is bored out to accept a Melling High Performance Sleeve. (DRY). Bores are then machined and honed to 4.125" This CNC process positions these parallel sleeves in the exact correct position to eliminate any core shift. Giving the block a consistent  .125" sleeve wall thickness with exactly .022" of alloy left between the bores.
  • ARP main studs are fitted and the crank tunnel is align honed.
  • Block decks are machined and squared to the crank tunnel, valley surface is also skimmed to clean any imperfections
  • Durabond cam bearings are fitted and checked that a cam will spin freely. (cam bearings can be pinned upon request at an extra cost.

The Malex 427 is a fully prepped block that can be washed and assembled. When combined with a 4" stroke crank will be a 427ci  7.0L engine.

The Beauty of the GM production block is that it is compatible with a stock components. Unlike your lsx and dart blocks that require unique parts.

Factory 5.3L marking may help with engineering

Bore Length 5.490"

Deck Height 9.236" (may vary within reason)

Some cranks and conrods may require the block to be clearanced.
