We’re the leading name in billet accessory brackets

One of the core components of any conversion project is the bracket. With the right bracket, you can be sure that your classic vehicle’s new and modern engine will be perfectly compatible and secure. These relocation brackets can help contain your air conditioning compressors, alternators and power steering pumps in an ideal configuration to allow your car to run with no surprises or risk. As the experts in conversion project solutions, Malex Motorsports Australia are happy to offer a wide variety of different configurations that help cover a range of different vehicle models and also have tensioners, idlers and deletes available for purchase.

Our goal is to help you find the right solution for your specific project. For example, you might find that an ICT Billet low mount alternator and LS1 alternator relocation bracket fits nicely in a late model car using a monocoque body and a steering rack, but it might foul on the steering box in an earlier vehicle which uses a full chassis body. For those projects you’ll need something different. For another example, an inline 6 engine is longer than a V8 engine but has a lot more room at the sides. It all comes down to how the space is used in the engine bay.

You will also want to know what offset options are available. The -1 offset is equivalent to the VE and VF Commodore and is the shortest offset that runs the belts close to the engine. The middle offset is -2 and has the same spacing as the Australian VT, VX, VY and VZ Commodores. Finally, the -3 pulley spacing puts the belts closer to the radiator and can be used to create room for turbo setups. This is commonly found in the new Camaro and in many Chevy trucks.

Another thing to consider is that the OEM brackets for the original vehicles, which may have been sufficient in themselves, is no longer available from the car manufacturer. In those circumstances you will need either a third party solution (such as the aforementioned ICT Billet low mount alternator and LS1 alternator relocation bracket), or a custom solution. ICT Billet is the main brand that Malex Motorsports Australia provides to our customers, but we also work on some of our own designs, based on the needs of our customers.

The reason we stock ICT Billet is that it is a highly reliable, proven expert in the field. Based in Wichita, US, ICT Billet has a reputation for uncompromising quality, which matches the Malex Motorsports own brand. For our own designs, all parts are made in Australia, which allows us to retain control over the quality of each part in the process. Unfortunately there are a lot of low-quality brackets and autoparts flooding the market that can do more harm than good. Malex Motorsports undertakes quality control and ongoing due diligence so that you can trust in what you buy from us.

Finally, we do understand that all of this can be confusing to someone new to car modifications. Which part is right for your vehicle? How should the project be approached? Our goal is to make the learning curve as smooth and easy as possible for our customers, regardless of experience. We are the experts, and our number one goal is to make each of our customer’s projects a success. As such, we’re always available to have a chat about your specific needs and offer honest, unbiased advice. If car modification is something you’ve been curious about, but not sure where to start, we are here to help!
